Interesting post but I have to mredpectfully say say I do not agree. First, who is Alan Watts the “philosophical entertainer”? Was he a real person? I doubt it. When I see videos on YouTube of recordings of him giving “little talks” I question…who recorded these and saved the recordings and uploaded them on YT decades later? The guy allegedly died in 1973 and gave those talks prior to his death. Believe me, recording someone at a public event was not that easy in 1960’s as it is now so I question if he existed & that the “recordings” are created by some other group and uploaded. The videos on YT seem to have a cult following. Which again makes me think…what is the message and who benefits? Personally, I don’t believe in Tao and I don’t believe in a “guy in the sky” metaphor as Almighty God. It’s more complex than that and both of those ideas seem man made and can be used to manipulate human beings. Either making them arrogant or so weak they have no free will. Human beings are not Almighty God. Nothing is, except Almighty God; Source, Creator & the Unseen Light without wickedness. Just because human beings have the “breath of life” from Almighty God does not make them a “god”.
One of the early Gnostic texts is called “The Greatest Human Evil is the Forgetfulness of God”. Essentially stating, “For the degeneration that flows from forgetfulness is drowning the earth, infecting soul and body veiling the soul like a cloak and stopping you from abiding in the Heart. Find the way into your heart! Look for a good teacher to show you the path to the gates of remembersnce where there’s light radiant and bright free from darkness. Where nobody is drunk, but keeps their mental eye on that Great Being who wills to be known in their heart. That Great Being cannot be seen or heard or spoken or thought about only by a higher subtle intellect that transcends normal matters of the mind.” Thank you again for your post, I enjoy reading them and they get me thinking, which is great.
Alan Watts was a real person, as much as anyone ever was, I can't really make an argument against your point because I'm afraid it doesn't really hold a lot of evidence. Recording technology, though primitive, was available in 50/60's – but it's an interesting take.
I think you should read the Tao Te Ching, it's sounds more like your understanding of God than you realise. When I say you are God, I don't mean in the sense of you are the eternal father figure, I mean more that you have that aspect of the light and creation in you – which all of us having, makes us one, which means – in the humblest way possible, you are part of the creator.
I would definitely give Alan Watts a good listen to as well, as I think he's more aligned with you're beliefs than you might think.
There's an audio book called 'out of your mind' which is a collection of his most famous lectures.
Thank you, but I’ve listened to him (Watts) a bit on YT and he seems haughty. I know there was recording tech in the 1960’s but it was cumbersome and huge equipment. And I know at your relatively young age you consider it normal to record lectures, it was not the norm in the 1960’s much less recording so many of a man that was little known. How do you know he really existed? What positive impact did he make on the world? Also, I don’t believe all life is “one”….I am not “one” with the wicked. I’ve seen much evil in my lifetime and I know I’m not “one” with those people who have done me much harm including a man nearly choking me to death leaving bruises around my neck or a man who I thought was a friend deeply betraying me by attempting to steal from me what I didn’t even have. I have looked into Taoism and like much of Eastern philosophy I find it lacking in justice. All of it comes from humans and it also is more about creating societal norms than spirituality or ethics. We are not God & having the Breath of Life from Almighty God does not make us God. Perhaps having the Breath of Life from God is what is the key least common denominator amongst us. My intention is not to be argumentative but rather to express myself as I fell strongly about these topics.Thank you again.

* respectfully say I do not agree. Please forgive my typos

Very relaxing, and highly recommended.
God bless.
